Sizing Up New Patio Furniture

If you are going to buy patio furniture, follow these instructions for taking your measurements the right way.
First, identify the space where you’d like to place your set. If it’s going to be in a confined space such as a deck or patio, measure the size of the area. From that space, subtract 30 inches in from each of the 4 sides. The remaining space within the area will give you the measurement of the largest sized patio set you can fit in your space. That way, when all your guests are seated, people can still maneuver around the table comfortably. Note that if your guests are larger than average add six to 12 additional inches as appropriate so they too can move around with ease.
