One well known native plant of America is the Eastern Purple Coneflower. It is a popular ornamental flower in many gardens, with dark pink petals and an orange center. It attracts butterflies and small birds, and is well known for it’s medicinal properties in alleviating rashes and over immune system boosting. This plant prefers moist soil and shady places, but can also grow in dry conditions. It’s normal height is between three and five feet tall. It is commonly found in Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa.
