The chicken coop or chicken ark is a stationary building that will accommodate your chickens. Whether you have two chickens or a flock of chickens you need a chicken coop. The coop is a housing structure that can be built adjacent to an already standing structure such as the garage or a toll shed. It can also stand alone but in areas where the weather is colder the standing structure it is attached to can deliver warmth in addition to the heating system you may already have.
The coop should have shelves on which hay will be placed to give the chickens a place to sleep and to lay their eggs. Chickens like peace and quiet and the chicken coop is a way of giving them what they need. It is also a place of security from predators.
