Certain types of food will increase your craving for a nicotine fix. So stay away from alcohol, sugar and coffee the first week or longer. These items tend to stimulate the desire for a cigarette. You should also Avoid fatty foods, as your metabolism will power down a bit without the nicotine, and you will probably gain weight even if you eat the same amount as before quitting.
So quitting smoking means you have to be extra careful about your diet as well.
