How To Train A Dog – The Secrets

March 5, 2010 - 3:54 pm No Comments

Having a dog is a big responsibility, it can also be a big headache if you don’t learn how to train a dogthe right way. Before I learned the secrets that the professional dog trainers used, I assumed some things that I was wrong. Totally wrong. There are things that we do naturally that actually add to whatever problem you’re having. For example if your dog is barking and you tell him to be quiet, you’re actually encouraging him to bark more. I have read many dog training courses and many of their techniques really opened my eyes. The benefits of training your dog correctly are tremendous. Do yourself a favor and find a dog training course that you like and get it.

5 Basic Rules For Dog Training

February 6, 2010 - 9:23 pm No Comments

There are 5 basic rules to go by when you are dog training.
1. Keep your dog training sessions short. 10 to 15 minutes is a good time for a session.
2. Decide what reward you are going to give your dog. If the reward is food, make it something that they especially like. A small piece of hot dog for example. Also if food is the reward, do your dog training before their meal, not after.
3. Keep your commands short and don’t repeat them. Dogs can focus for about 2 minutes.
4. The odds of success go down as the dog’s motivation goes down. Make sure they are motivated by the reward.
5. End your dog training session with a command you know you dog can do. This way you end the session with positive dog training.

Glucosamine For Dogs

Glucosamine for Dogs is great because it relieves arthritis in your little buddy. It is not a common fact that dogs can get arthritis but in reality they are just like humans in that their bones deteriorate over time. I gave glucosamine to my dog and he was so much better. He jumped around and stopped acting like his little body was hurting. I am thankful that someone had the right mind to identify that dogs may benefit from glucosamine. I wish that someone would have told me about it sooner, maybe then my dog would have not been in pain for so long.
