Exercising with Jiu Jitsu

February 17, 2010 - 8:31 am No Comments

Jiu Jitsu is a great way to exercise. I personally prefer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and have been doing it for about a year now. We call it BJJ for short.

BJJ is great because you need a partner to work with. As you arrive at each class you will find a partner and work with them for 45 minutes to an hour. Usually you find someone in the class that is approximately your own size and the great thing is that each class its likely you can work with a different partner.

Because BJJ is such a social activity it makes it really easy to motivate yourself to come to each class.

Buying A Treadmill – Store vs Online

February 11, 2010 - 3:27 pm No Comments

Finding the right treadmill for your needs can be difficult. There are thousands of sites that come up in the search results when you search on google for treadmills. Most of the sites that are out there were created by marketers who write positive reviews about their own products to get you to buy.

Buying from an online retailer can be beneficial because often these online retailers don’t have the same overhead as the brick and mortar businesses and thus can pass savings onto you the customer.

If you are going to buy a treadmill online make sure it is new. If you want to purchase a used treadmill it is best that you can see the treadmill first to make sure it is in good shape.

Too Much Too Soon

Most clients want too much too soon. This is just unrealistic thinking. Even if you workout 9 hours a day 7 days a week, you will not have a shredded six pack or rippling muscles in 2 weeks. That’s just not the way the human body works. All of my womens workout routines are geared toward maximum weight loss in the shortest time possible, however I don’t want there to be false notions that you’ll be ready for whatever big day you’re planning for in an unrealistically short amount of time. Of course, it should be noted that your most significant and dramatic weight loss results do generally happen within the first two weeks because your body is responding to this new stress.

Tai Chi And Dieting Helps In Managing Stress

February 5, 2010 - 11:57 am No Comments

My brother was a no nonsense guy, served the country in Iraq, returned home basically unchanged, so we believed. He got on to finish a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and successfully got a job. After a year of his employment he was put into stress management seminar and we could not believe that he had a fit in his office. After his seminar, he came to visit us back home. He had this unexplained glow in him, he said that it was because of Tai Chi and his new found diet.

He learned Tai Chi at the seminar, which helped him get rid of the bottled negativity that the war taxed on him. But he discovered the Nutrasystem diet himself, which he claims, is helping him more with his Tai Chi practices. He tried to teach me this ancient chinese form of inner exercise, but he was never the good teacher, so he enrolled me at a Tai Chi class.
