An excellent tutorial. I might add: making the water very shallow helps to make a splash with a “crown” of secondary drops. Check my video under Flashing Water Drops to see this and the physics behind it.

I used a Canon 24- …
I used a Canon 24-105L but a macro would be better, but don’t get to close to the water unless your camera is splash proof.
